Michelle and Michael Garcia have been very involved with CYO/Camp Howard over the past several years with Michael serving as a basketball coach for his boys basketball teams as youngsters. Sons, Connor and Kyle participated in several sports including basketball, football and track and field over the years and Connor also spent a summer as a Camp Howard counselor. Michael spent several years on the CYO/Camp Howard Board of Directors and served as Chair. Michelle has served on the Capital Campaign committee to raise funds for the new Mary's Lodge at Camp Howard. The Garcia's have left their mark on CYO/Camp Howard and we are grateful to both of them!

"Michelle rejoined the team at Northwest Investment Counselors in 2013 as a wealth manager. She brings 27 years of experience in the wealth management and financial services industry to the firm. Prior to joining the firm, Michelle was a senior vice president, private client advisor with U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management. In her role at U.S. Trust, she was responsible for leading a team of professionals that were working with high net worth families in the areas of trusts, investments and banking needs.

Michelle's career has encompassed various management, sales and marketing positions within the financial services industry. She managed the Wealth Management department for Washington Trust Bank in Portland, OR for over six years. She managed the sales and marketing responsibilities at Northwest Investment Counselors, Bank of the Northwest and Northern Bank of Commerce. She began her financial career with US Bank and spent over 10 years managing branches and working in sales and marketing.

Michelle currently holds her Series 7 and 66 Investment Securities Licenses. She graduated from Cannon Financial Institute, Personal Trust School at Boston University and has a Bachelor of Arts in Rhetoric and Communication from the University of Oregon. Active in the community, she is on the Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon Ministries Board, Chair of the Investment Committee for the Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon, on the Board of Directors for SAGE, and on the Board of Trustees and Investment Committee for Legacy Health Meridian Park Medical Foundation." www.nwic.net

"Michael Garcia joined the firm in 2016 and serves as chief technology officer for Ferguson Wellman and West Bearing Investments. He is responsible for strategic planning and implementation of all information systems and related hardware, integration of all existing and new operation systems and management of all technology vendor relationships.

Prior to joining the firm, Garcia worked as the communications director for a family office and its various business ventures. He was also the principal and owner of a private technology consulting company that provided data analytics and web services for clients. He holds a B.A. in English from Oregon State University and has his Series 7 and 63 licenses from the National Association of Security Dealers. Garcia is the immediate past president of the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO)/Camp Howard Executive Board and now serves on various committees for that organization. He has been named Chair of CYO/Camp Howard's major fundraiser, the Annual Champions of Faith Benefit Dinner for 2018.
