Our program is set up so that there are two basic directions that you can take. The first is with our General Camp Program, and the second is with our large variety of specialty camps. For more information on our large selection of specialty camps, click here.
General Camp is the base program at Camp Howard. This means that, excluding any specialty camps, every activity we offer will be available to those signed up for General Camp. General Camp starts on Sunday, and ends on Friday, and is packed with activities in between.
Activities:
During the day, you will have six different hours where you will be attending activities.
These activities include:

We have a couple of special meals throughout the week as well. We have an outdoor Hawaiian Luau on Tuesday night, a hot dog cookout on Wednesday night, a bed-head breakfast, a sack lunch, a twin lunch, and a special Thursday night dinner.
Campfires:
We have three campfires a week at Camp Howard. Two of them are at our popular Wy’East Campfire Pit (pictured below), on Sunday and Tuesday. Our third and final campfire of the week is our Cougar Campfire, at our Creekside (Cougar) Campfire Pit, on Thursday evening.
Teenage Campers:
The teenagers who are campers in General Camp or any specialty camps stay in our Sparpole unit. Teenage campers have a few extra advantages than the rest of camp, namely their nighttime activities. Throughout the week they will stay up later than the rest of camp to have a night swim in our lit pool, an overnight that includes them cooking dinner and hiking to our overnight location, and a dance at the end of the week.
Accreditation:
Camp Howard is accredited by the American Camping Association. Membership in this national organization means we have achieved and are held to the highest standards of health and safety.
